When the team behind Indian street food paradise Chai Street decided to open a second location in Cardiff’s city centre, they knew the space needed a style of its own.
Created by the people behind the multi award-winning Mint and Mustard, Chai Street brings authentic Indian street food to the heart of Cardiff.
The Canton restaurant was featured in the 2016 Michelin Guide and named one of the best restaurants in Wales by WalesOnline. The new space was designed to build on this success and serve up delicious Indian street food in the city centre.
Chai Street on the high street was offically opened in November 2016 with a packed launch night full of press, bloggers, the burningred team and the whole of the Chai Street family.
How we helped
As the second location, Chai Street on the high street needed to have its own personality whilst still looking like part of the family. We were commissioned to develop & implement the venue’s interior design, from initial concepts to final creative production.
As project managers and core creative, we worked with the Chai Street team from the very beginning; visiting the new site, mapping our designs, creating artwork and liaising with everyone from builders to graffiti artists to get the project to completion.
The result was a bright and eye-catching new restaurant that WalesOnline described as “a riot of colour and twinkling lights”.
