The Invisible Work of Nurses Website & Content

Dynamic video production & website development to shine a light on the Invisible Work of Nurses.

Objective

To raise awareness of the ‘Invisible Work of Nurses’, an academic study carried out by Professor Davina Allen of Cardiff University, with a full-scale video production and standalone campaign website.

Our approach

This project revolved around making the client’s intensive body of research digitally accessible and engaging, making it the perfect candidate for a Squarespace website featuring bespoke video content. We began by crafting a brand identity for the project, with a nod to the iconic Florence Nightingale lamp - an icon of nursing everywhere.

We disseminated the project’s process and findings into our planned website structure, and mapped out what video content we needed to produce.

We planned an intensive content day with the client and a series of supporting artists, held at Cardiff University’s Simulation Suite complete with mock operating theatres and practice rooms. We filmed multiple interviews with Professor Davina Allen about the project and her findings, and filmed hours of footage of ‘nurses’ working within clinical settings.

We developed the footage into a suite of videos to support the research throughout the website and for use within the client’s presentations and future publications. Videos included interviews with the client herself, along with B-roll, background videos, POV-style videos following nurses and more.

Campaign content & advertising visuals

Working with burningred on the Invisible Work of Nurses website was an amazing experience.  The team brought energy, enthusiasm, and creativity to the project, and worked with us in a truly collaborative endeavour.

Not only did the product exceed all expectations, but we were also enriched by the process.
